Claimtax Tax Returns Process - How It Works
Fee Structure
Tax Rumours and Fines
To begin your tax refund or tax return, either email us for a free, no obligation consultation or simply choose the category which suits your status from the Home or Downloads pages to obtain a questionnaire.
The details required on the questionnaires are necessary to complete
your forms.
Once you have completed the questionnaire, please save it and email it back to us.
You will be assigned an agent who:
- will check the details on the questionnaire,
- query any inconsistencies or gaps,
- perform the tax calculation(s),
- complete your tax documents on your behalf and
- email you to advise you of any refund.
Methods Of Payment
Option 1 (suggested option)
Payment is made upfront. You will receive your refund directly from the Inland Revenue into either your UK account or your overseas address.
Option 2 (PAYE & CIS tax refunds only)
Claimtax receives your refund from the Inland Revenue on your behalf, from which we deduct our fee and send the remainder to either your UK account or overseas account.

Fee Structure
Our Fee Structure for April is as follows:
- PAYE : 10% of claim, with a minimum of £40
- CIS Contractor : 10% of claim, with a minimum of £70
- Ltd Co Directors :From £80
- Self Employed : From £80
- Document Chasing: £15 per document
- Refund Transfer to Overseas Account: £10
These fees apply to each year of claim.
Considering the market price (using the companies in the TNT
and on the internet as examples) is over £150 for a Self Assessment tax return, and 18% + VAT of
the refund amount those on PAYE get back, you won’t find a lower
price or better service than at Claimtax.co.uk.

Tax Rumours and Fines
There are many rumours that get spread about tax each year, and
one of them is that only people who work on a PAYE basis can claim
a refund. While it is true that the majority of people who do
claim their tax back are on PAYE, many people forget that those
working as directors of Limited Companies, CIS Contractors or
as Self Employed are often due refunds as well.
People working in these latter three categories are obligated
by law to submit a SA100 Self Assessment Tax Return at the end
of every tax year. If they don’t, they risk a £100
fine imposed by the Inland Revenue.
