Tax Refunds for Travellers

There are thousands of travellers from all over the world in the UK who have come to travel and work and each year thousands more arrive. In 2007 alone, more than 45,000 Working Holiday visas were issued to foreigners heading to the UK and 2008 is on track to exceed this number.

In the UK you are taxed on the assumption that you will be working a full tax year, and the system does not make allowances for those who work only part of a tax year or who leave the country during a tax year. Often when people are travelling, they work intermittently, working for a few months to fund a trip elsewhere, and then return after that trip to repeat the process.

Coupled with the fact that everyone who works in the UK, regardless of nationality, is eligible for a tax free allowance - £6035 for the 08/09 year, this is one of the most common reasons that travellers are overtaxed and therefore due a tax rebate. Remember that you can claim up to 6 years in arrears.

Contact claimtax@claimtax.co.uk today to claim your tax refund. It could cover your next holiday, or pay off your last one!
